TTP killed 387 Pakistani soldiers, injured 484 from January to June this year

Peshawar: The Pakistani military has been suffering heavily at the hands of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which killed 387 soldiers and injured 484 other personnel during the first 6 months of this year.

In the 305 attacks at various places across Pakistan during this period, the Islamist organisation also damaged or destroyed a lot of military assets, including 6 military buildings, 7 Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) buildings and 29 military vehicles.

Among the 871 security personnel killed and injured, 379 belonged to the Army, SSG and Rangers, 283 to Police and CTD, 185 to Frontier Corps and 23 intelligence, the TTP said.

Issuing a detailed report of its operations from January till June-end, the TTP said 94 were carried out in Dera Ismail Khan Province, 85 in Bannu Wilayat Province, 65 in Peshawar Province, 15 each in Mardan and Malakand Provinces, 8 in Kohat Province, 19 in Balochistan, 3 in Punjab and one in Sindh.

The types of operations included Suicide attack (5), Sniper or laser attacks (67), Counter Attacks (78), Guerrilla attacks (41), Hand grenades/bomb explosions (37), Targeted Attacks (28) and Missile attacks (5), according to TTP spokesman Muhammad Khurasani.

During this period, TTP seized 21 Kalashnikov rifles, 13 other types of rifles, 3 motorcycles, 1 American Night Binoculars, many grenades and bullets.

TTP started an all-out war against the Pakistani military, especially the Army, since November 27 last year.

It says the Pakistan Army is corrupt, unholy and responsible for all the problems affecting Pakistan.
