Peshawar, Aug 18 (NVI) Under its ‘Operation Al-Khandaq’, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) killed at least 15 Pakistani security personnel and injured over 20 in multiple attacks on a single day of Sunday (yesterday) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.
The biggest among the attacks was an ambush by the TTP cadres on Sunday morning in Ladha in South Waziristan, in which a military truck and van were burnt to ashes and 4 other vehicles were partially damaged, according to its spokesman Muhammad Khorasani.
At least 10 military personnel were killed and 15 injured in this assault, the spokesman said.
There were 11 more operations during the day in various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including South Waziristan, North Waziristan, Kurram district, Lakki Marwat district, Shangla district and Dera Ismail Khan district.
In South Waziristan, one military officer was killed and another was injured in a laser gun attack on a check post located in Kazha Panga area of Azam Warsak district, the spokesman said.
An ambush was carried out by TTP on a military protection team on the main road of Angor Adda in South Waziristan, in which 2 military personnel were killed and three were injured, he said.
At 8 am on Sunday, one military man was injured in a sniper attack and Pika gun assault in Dosli area of North Waziristan, he said.
In the afternoon, a military post in Munzar Khel area of Datta Khel in North Waziristan was attacked using laser guns, snipers and GL, in which one security camera was destroyed, while casualties are also reported, he said.
In Kurram district, a military official was killed in a Mujahideen sniper attack on a check post located in the Mazrina area of Sadda, he said.
In Lakki Marwat district, a mine was detonated on an armored vehicle of the Saddar police station in which there is likelihood of casualties and property damage.
In Dera Ismail Khan district, some military personnel working on the roof a post in Madi village of Kalachi were attacked, resulting in the death of one soldier and injuries to others, the spokesman said. (NVI)
