TTP says it killed 97 Pakistani soldiers, injured 114 in October

Peshawar: Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) continues to inflict heavy casualties on the Pakistani armed forces, with 97 soldiers being killed and 114 being injured in 83 attacks during the month of October, according to the outfit.

Releasing details of its activities in the last month, TTP said the targets included the Pakistan Army, including its Special Services Group (SSG), and paramilitary force Frontier Corps (FC) and police.

The places of TTP operations included Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province’s district Dera Ismail Khan where the maximum number of 32 armed engagements took place, according to the statement to NVI.

At least 24 armed engagements took place in Bannu district, 14 in Peshawar district and 4 in Malakand district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Five operations took place in Punjab Province, all in Mianwali district, one in Gilgit-Baltistan Province and 3 in Balochistan.

The operations by TTP during October included 17 ambushes, 27 Counterattacks, 13 Sniper/Laser Attacks,10 Grenade attacks/Bombings, 9 Guerrilla attacks, 4 Missile attacks and 3 Targeted Attacks of armed forces personnel.

Among the institutions affected in TTP operations were 99 of the Pakistan Army/SSG, 50 of the FC and 62 of the Police/Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), according to the statement.

The TTP destroyed 2 military posts, 4 military vehicles, 6 mobile vehicles of the police and 10 spy cameras, it said.

During the month, the TTP seized 7 Kalashnikov guns, 2 MG1 guns and 3 Night Vision Binoculars from the armed forces.

The TTP also took into custody 2 personnel of the armed forces during October, it said.
