TTP says it killed many Pakistani soldiers in multiple attacks

Peshawar: Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) killed 16 Pakistani soldiers in an attack and caused several more casualties in some other assaults on the government forces, according to the Islamist group.

This afternoon, the TTP ambushed an army convoy consisting of 3 vehicles in Badr area of South Waziristan, its spokesman Muhammad Khurasani said.

In the attack, around 16 army personnel were killed and many were injured, he said.

A security camera installed on the military fort near the operation site was also shot down, he said.

At around 4 PM, a fierce clash took place between the police and the TTP Mujahideen near Lamshiwal in Makarwal area of ​​Isa Khel district of South Punjab, in which two police vehicles were targeted, Khurasani said.

Two more police vehicles, which were coming to the help of their entrapped colleagues in Lamshiwal, were targeted by TTP in Deadwal area of ​​Makarwal, resulting in heavy loss of life and property on the police side, the spokesman said in a statement.

The intense exchange of fire continued for about two hours, he said.

This evening, TTP attacked a police station in Tehkal area of ​​Peshawar city with hand grenades, as a result of which several officers were killed and injured, the spokesman said.

Last night in Daraban area of Dera Ismail Khan,  TTP attacked a military fort, a check post of paramilitary Frontier Corps and a police station simultaneously with light and heavy weapons, in which several personnel were reportedly killed, Khurasani said.
