Peshawar, July 27 (NVI) Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) today said it has been killing and injuring a large number of Pakistani soldiers every day and increasing number of security personnel are refusing to fight, leading to acute shortage of manpower and lowering of morale among the forces.
“This is why there is a major concern and deep anxiety in the security agencies across the country and announcements for fresh recruitments are being made through loudspeakers in different areas by luring the youth with big salaries and benefits,” TTP spokesman Muhammad Khorasani said in a statement.
Issuing a warning, he said the people of Pakistan “should avoid using their loved ones as fuel and shield for war in the greed of recent recruitments and salaries and benefits” being offered by the military.
“A large number of security personnel — 30 to 40 on an average — are being killed and injured by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan’s mujahideen every day,” the spokesman said.
He said information is also being “received from all over the country that personnel of various security agencies have refused to fight Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan after learning the truth of the dollar war.”
He added, “Some have resigned in a show of loyalty, a considerable number have surrendered after getting fed up with the war, and several personnel have been suspended and sent home by their superiors.”
As a result, he said, “the security agencies are facing a shortage of personnel, their morale has been severely reduced, and they have been forced to flee the battlefield.” (NVI)
