Peshawar, Mar 31 (NVI) Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has blasted the Pakistan Army for carrying out drone attacks in Mardan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the holy month of Ramadan which killed and injured many innocent people and asked the Muslims of the country to rise against the military.

In a statement, TTP said the actions like the drone attacks in the Katlang area of Mardan district during the holy month of Ramadan was not the first of its kind by the Pakistan Army.

“Such painful and tragic incidents have happened not once or twice, but dozens of times,” said the statement issued by TTP spokesman Muhammad Khorasani.

“We have repeatedly told our oppressed and proud people that this (Pakistan) army is a mercenary army,” he said, adding “if we look at their history, history is ashamed of their dark and cruel stories.”

Referring to the drone attacks in Mardan in which several innocent people, including children, were killed, Khorasani said, “Such brutal military generals are neither loyal to Islam nor to the nation, but are concerned about their own luxury and dollars.”

Appealing to the “residents of the country of God and those who call themselves Islam”, the TTP spokesman said, “stand up and demand your rights from these cruel and oppressive military generals. We stand by you.”

He posed a query. “Just like Muslims of Pakistan are united against the bombing of Palestinian Muslims, why are they silent about these drone attacks in Mardan? Why is journalism and media (of Pakistan) silent?”

He underlined to the “Muslims of Pakistan” that “To achieve the goal for which Pakistan came into existence,” they should “support Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and uproot this scourge of General-ism.”

He said, “it will not be long before the spring of Islam comes to the country.” (NVI)
