Peshawar: In a major hit at the Pakistani military, a suicide squad of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) tonight attacked a crucial compound of Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in Khyber Agency of Peshawar province and claimed to have killed or injured at least 10 officers and 3 agents of the security agencies.

In a statement, TTP spokesman Muhammad Khurasani said the attack in Jamrud Tehsil was carried out by Mujahid Hamza, a member of the outfit.

The attack was carried out on a center of the notorious CTD, which appeared to be a police post but was actually the main base for CTD personnel and spies, he said.

At least 10 officers were killed and injured and the building was completely destroyed, Khurasani said.

The attack also resulted in the killing of Military Intelligence operatives Manzoor Shah, Rafiq and Yunus, the TTP spokesman said, adding Manzoor and Rafiq were wanted by the outfit since 2007.

The TTP asserted that it will continue its operations against the forces occupying the country and their followers until the implementation of the Islamic system in the country.
