Srinagar, Dec 23 (NVI) Police demonstrated swift action by apprehending two individuals accused of assaulting Mohammad Amin Sheikh, an employee of the mining department, following a complaint from the District Mineral Officer’s office today.
The incident, which occurred on December 22, prompted the police to register an FIR (No. 94/2024) at Police Station Litter under relevant sections of the law. Responding immediately, a dedicated team was formed to investigate the matter and bring the culprits to justice.
Through efficient and professional efforts, the accused—Javid Ahmad Mir, son of Bashir Ahmad Mir, and Shamim Ahmad Mir, son of Gh Ahmad Mir, both residents of Petipora—were identified and apprehended within 24 hours of the incident. The swift arrests reflect the police’s dedication to maintaining law and order and ensuring that those responsible for such offenses are held accountable.
Mohammad Amin Sheikh, the assaulted employee, was reportedly targeted while performing his official duties, a matter that raised concerns among government employees in the area.
