Anantnag, Mar 8 (NVI): Jagat Prakash Nadda, Union Health Minister, has honoured the Principal and Dean of Government Medical College Anantnag, Prof. Dr. Rukhsana Najeeb, for her exemplary services in promoting affordable healthcare and strengthening the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana.
Dr. Najeeb received the appreciation award during a ceremony held in New Delhi on the occasion of Jan Aushadhi Diwas, officials said.
The event was attended by Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers Anupriya Patel as the guest of honour and Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals
Manoj Joshi as the special guest.
According to officials, the Jan Aushadhi Kendra operating under the medical college — PMBJK09614 — was selected among the top four Kendras in the country for recording one of the highest purchase figures, reflecting its role in ensuring availability of quality medicines at affordable prices.
The recognition was conferred for the institution’s contribution towards expanding the reach of generic medicines and supporting the government’s efforts to make healthcare more affordable for the public, they said.
