Srinagar, Aug 13 (NVI):- The Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir has announced that a large number of people are expected to participate in this year’s Independence Day celebrations, as entry will be open to all. This decision aims to encourage greater public involvement in the festivities, reflecting the spirit of unity and patriotism.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vidhi Kumar Bhidhuri said The celebrations will take place across various locations in the region, with the main event being held at the Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium in Srinagar. The event will include a flag hoisting ceremony, cultural programs, and performances by local artists.
He highlighted the enthusiasm among school children and local residents for the celebrations. He noted that there is an open invitation for all residents of Kashmir to participate in the main function, expressing confidence that a large number of people would attend the event on August 15.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, V K Bhirdi announced that unprecedented security measures have been implemented to ensure the smooth conduct of Independence Day celebrations in Kashmir on August 15.
Recent terrorist activities, such as the encounter at Kokernag, have been considered while planning the security arrangements, he said.
A multi-layered security grid is in place across Srinagar, particularly at the main venue, Bakshi Stadium, where the full-dress rehearsal was conducted.
The IGP assured that these measures are crucial to prevent any disruption during the events.
The authorities are focused on ensuring a safe and celebratory atmosphere for Independence Day, reflecting the community’s excitement and commitment to the occasion. (News Vibes of India)
