Jammu, Sep 11(NVI): A BSF jawan was injured in an unprovoked firing from across the border in Akhnoor sector of Jammu, BSF officials said today.
BSF’s Jammu based spokesman, in a statement, issued here said that on September 11, at about 02:35 AM, an incident of unprovoked firing in the Akhnoor area from across the border took place which was befittingly responded to by the BSF. “One BSF personnel sustained injuries in Pak firing; Troops are on high alert,” the spokesman said.
The injured BSF jawan has been identified as CT/GD Durba Jyoti Das.
BSF sources said the area is being sanitized to check whether the firing was aimed at giving cover to infiltrators. More details are awaited. (News Vibes Of India)
