New Delhi (NVI): At least six people were killed and 11 others injured after their vehicle collided with a speeding truck on the Varanasi-Jaunpur highway in Jalalpur area of Uttar Pradesh’s Jaunpur district today.
All 17 people were travelling in a jeep after attending a cremation in Varanasi, according to police.
The injured had been admitted to a local hospital, where the condition of three is said to be serious.
Reportedly, the truck driver escaped from the scene after the incident.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and wished for speedy recovery of the injured.
