UP govt announces Sunday lockdown in all districts

New Delhi (NVI): The Uttar Pradesh Government has announced a complete lockdown on Sunday in Uttar Pradesh amid the rise in Covid cases. The restrictions will come into effect at 8 PM Saturday night and remain in place till Monday at 7 AM.

All essential services will be exempted from the restrictions.

The state government further added that those caught without a mask in Uttar Pradesh will be fined Rs. 1,000 the first time and Rs. 10,000 the next.

“There will be a weekly closure in all rural and urban areas of the state on Sunday. Only sanitation, sanitisation and emergency services will operate during this period. Necessary awareness works should also be done in this regard,” an official statement said.

The govt said that all markets, offices, gyms, auditoriums, and cinema halls will be closed.
