New Delhi (NVI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat today tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
Taking to Twitter, the Chief Minister said he has tested positive for COVID-19 and has placed himself under isolation, and is stable.
“My corona test report came back positive. I’m fine and I have no problem. I have isolated myself under the supervision of the doctors. Those of you who have come in close contact with me in the last few days, please be cautious and get yourself checked,” Rawat tweeted in Hindi.

The newly appointed Chief Minister of Uttarakhand was scheduled to reach Delhi today for a four-day visit to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and other cabinet ministers.
Recently, the Uttarakhand government has been asked by the Centre to put in place strict measures to control the spread of the virus during the upcoming Mahakumbh scheduled to begin in Haridwar on April 1.
Meanwhile, the state has registered 98,448 coronavirus cases with 137 reported in past 24 hours. The death toll stands at 1,704 in Uttarakhand, the Health Ministry data shows.
