New Delhi (NVI): Under the air bubble arrangement between India and Bahrain, an Air India Express flight today left for Hyderabad from Bahrain International Airport with 169 passengers on board.

“Air India Express Flight IX 1974 from Bahrain to Hyderabad via Vijayawada departed today from Bahrain International Airport with 169 passengers onboard. Wishing safe journey to all the passengers,” the Indian embassy in Bahrain tweeted.

India has made air bubble arrangements with at least 13 countries including the US, UK, France, Germany, Canada, the Maldives, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Nigeria, Iraq, Afghanistan and Japan.

Air India/Air India Express and Gulf Air are now permitted to operate services between India and Bahrain under the arrangement.

Bubble arrangements between countries are different from repatriation flights, which are only one way and the passengers have to register themselves with the embassy to board such flights.
