Srinagar (NVI): Bollywood celebrities Vicky Kaushal and Sonal Chauhan yesterday visited Uri in North Kashmir’s Baramulla and attended cultural programme- “Umeed ki Sehar” organised by the Indian Army.

The two actors, who visited Uri for the first time, said that Bollywood must make a comeback to Kashmir as there are no words to describe the beauty of this place.

Local people and artists also attended the event. GOC Dagger Division, Maj Gen Varinder Vats was also present on the occasion with the two actors.

Interestingly, Vicky Kaushal had also played the role of Major Vihaan Singh Shergill of the Indian Army in 2019 action movie- Uri: The Surgical Strike. The movie is based on a covert operation by the Indian Army against a group of militants who attacked a base in Uri, Kashmir, in 2016 that led to death of some Indian soldiers.

While addressing a gathering at Uri yesterday, Vicky Kaushal said that he was happy to be in Kashmir and it is only because of the Indian Army, “who are the real heroes”, that he visited Kashmir for the first time.

The 32-year-old actor said that recently Anil Kapoor came to know that he was going to Kashmir. He said that Kapoor asked him to take him along and that almost every actor looks for an opportunity to visit Kashmir.

Actress Sonal Chauhan also appreciated the beauty of Kashmir and said that her first movie was Jannat but it is for the first time she witnessed “Jannat” (Heaven) in real.
