New Delhi (NVI): A prominent Baloch leader has warned China against using Balochistan coast for military purposes against neighbouring countries, saying that it is time for Beijing to “stop and back off” from its activities in the region, that is illegally occupied by Pakistan.

Dr Allah Nazar, the head of Baloch armed group Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), in a newly released video has said that the Baloch nation will never allow China to pursue its financial and geopolitical interests in the region that is struggling for freedom from Pakistan.

“I want to call upon China that you, along with your financial interests, want to use the coast of Baloch for military purposes to pose a threat against the neighbouring countries as well as the rest of the world through the hot waters of Balochistan. But the Baloch nation will never permit it,” the BLF head was quoted as saying by The Balochistan Post.

“For China, it is time to stop and back off. When the Baloch nation gets its sovereignty, then you will do far better trade with the Baloch and may invest here,” he added.

The video was posted on YouTube by Baloch media outlet Sangar. In the video, the Baloch leader urged the neighbouring countries to help Balochistan in, what he termed, “our struggle that is in line with the United Nations charter.”

The Baloch leader’s stern warning to China comes amid reports of a large-scale military operation by Pakistan state authorities in Balochistan.

The Balochistan Post reports that Pakistan’s top military institutions have decided to launch a large-scale military operation in different parts of Balochistan.

According to reports, the purpose of these military operations by Pakistan is to protect the Pakistan-China Economic Corridor (CPEC) project and obstruct the current rise of attacks on army by insurgents.

Notably, Baloch fighters have engaged in massive attacks on army camps in Bolan region of Balochistan recently, besides the recent attacks on Pakistan army and installations on CPEC route in Makran region.
