Will fight for restoration of J&K Statehood in Parliament & on streets: Rahul

Jammu, Sep 25 (NVI) Soon after the Assembly elections in J&K, INDIA bloc will build pressure on the BJP-led government at the Centre to restore the Statehood of the Union Territory, Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said here today.

Addressing a massive election rally at Jammu, Rahul said if the BJP-led government does not restore the Statehood of J&K, the constitutents of the INDIA will protest vigorously in both Houses of Parliament and hit the streets across the country.

“This will be the first priority of an INDIA government that is going to come to power soon,” Rahul Gandhi said.

He said the Modi-led government has choked the development of J&K.

“The affairs of J&K are run by those from other states. The Lieutenant Governor (Manoj Sinha) is doing things at his will,” he said.

The opposition leader said that Kashmir and Jammu were the central hub of India’s business activity but the BJP-led government choked and snatched.

“The LG and the BJP government have broken the backbone of small businesses in J&K,” Rahul said, adding that youth have been left jobless across J&K.”

He said unless and until, small medium enterprises flourish in J&K, unemployment will prevail. “But BJP doesn’t want it, that’s why LG has been brought in,” he said.

Attacking PM Modi for boasting about “Make in India”, Rahul said Adani’s tag is being fixed on Israeli made weapons.

Rahul said the promise made by the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh about Kashmiri Pandit Rehabilitation will be fulfilled.

“As far as smart meters go, we will remove them, we don’t need them,” he said. “We will make Punjabi an official language as well.”

He said in the opposition, he will raise the voice of J&K people. “Whenever you would invite me to Jammu, I will be here,” he said— (News Vibes of India)
