Jammu, Jul 13 (NVI): At least 18 Amarnath Yatra pilgrims were injured after two Jammu and Kashmir Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) buses collided in Ramban district on Monday, triggering a chain collision involving two other vehicles, officials said.
The accident occurred at Langar Point in the Chanderkote area when one SRTC bus hit another bus travelling in the Pahalgam-bound convoy. The impact pushed the second bus into a Nexa XL6, which subsequently collided with a private bus, they said.
Officials said 18 pilgrims sustained injuries in the accident and were shifted to the District Hospital Ramban for treatment. The injured are stated to be residents of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Punjab.
The condition of the injured was stated to be stable, officials said.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident, while further investigation is underway.—(NVI)
