Srinagar (NVI): Jammu and Kashmir today recorded 525 fresh cases of the deadly coronavirus, including 51 travelers, taking the total number of positive cases in the Union Territory to 38,223.
Of the total cases, 29,201 are from Kashmir and 9,022 from the Jammu division.
The UT health officials said that among 525 new cases, 284 belong to the Kashmir division while 241 are from the Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division has reached 29,201 including 22,850 recoveries.
On the other hand, the total number of positive cases in the Jammu division has reached 9,022 including 6,634 recoveries and 70 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir is 8,022 including 5,704 from the Kashmir division and 2,318 from the Jammu division.
With 469 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in J&K has reached 29,484 which is 77.13 percent of the total cases. Srinagar district alone has 9,368 positive cases which is more than the total number of positive cases in the Jammu division (9,022).
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 95 from Srinagar, 14 from Baramulla, 36 from Pulwama, 17 from Budgam, 26 from Anantnag, 28 from Bandipora, 23 from Kupwara, 09 from Kulgam, 02 from Shopian and 34 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 241 from Jammu division include 121 from Jammu, 19 from Rajouri, 28 from Kathua, 04 from Udhampur, 12 from Samba, 13 from Doda, 20 from Poonch, 12 from Reasi and 12 from Kishtwar,” read the daily the Covid bulletin.
Apart from that, 4,64,313 persons in the UT are under observation while 45,845 persons have been kept under home quarantine. Besides, 8,022 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 3,63,785 persons have completed the surveillance period and 45,944 persons are under home surveillance.
So far, results of 9,78,882 samples are available out of which 9,40,659 stand negative while 38,223 have tested positive. Among positive cases, 8,023 are active and 29,484 persons have recovered, as per the bulletin.
