Jammu: Army repulses attack, kills 2 terrorists, loses 4 soldiers

Jammu: Indian Army today repulsed a suicide terror attack at its post in Rajouri district of Jammu, killing 2 terrorists in a gunfight in which 4 soldiers also lost their lives and 2 were injured.

The 2 terrorists were trying to sneak into the Army post in Pargal area in the darkness but they were intercepted by the alert troops, the Army said.

Rajouri is a of Jammu and Kashmir, bordering Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).

“2 terrorists trying to sneak into a post in the dark at Pargal #Rajouri were detected and engaged by alert troops. The terrorists have been neutralised,” the Army tweeted in the morning.

“5 soldiers also suffered injuries and are being treated,” it added.

Hours later, the Army tweeted an update.

“Subedar Rajendra Prasad, Rifleman Manoj Kumar & Rifleman Lakshmanan D succumbed to their injuries making the supreme sacrifice while neutralising 2 terrorists on a suicide attack,” It said.

“We condole their loss and pray for strength for their family member,” the Army added in the tweet.

Tonight, the Army tweeted another update.

“Rifleman Nishant Malik who was injured while bravely fighting and eliminating 2 terrorists in Pargal, #Rajouri has succumbed to injuries,” it said.

“We condole his loss and stand in solidarity with his family,” the Army added.

The Army said a large quantity of arms and ammunition was recovered from the slain terrorists.

The recoveries included 2 AK 47 rifles, 9 Magazines, 300 Rounds and 5 Grenades.
