Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan Visits Srinagar, Meets BJP Leaders

Srinagar, Apr 27 (NVI): Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday visited Srinagar and held a meeting with senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu and Kashmir unit to review organisational and development-related matters.

Chouhan, accompanied by BJP UT president and MP Sat Sharma, Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma and party general secretary Mohammad Anwar Khan, interacted with district presidents, prabharis and other functionaries at a meeting held in the city.

Addressing the gathering, the minister appreciated the party cadre for strengthening the organisation at the grassroots level despite challenges in the region.

He said Srinagar will soon see the launch of PMGSY-IV Batch-II works aimed at improving rural connectivity and infrastructure. Chouhan reiterated the Centre’s commitment to accelerating development in Jammu and Kashmir with a focus on rural prosperity and agriculture.

The Union minister also said efforts are being planned to identify and engage talented youth from the Kashmir Valley in research and innovation, particularly in the agriculture sector, to promote sustainable development.

Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma welcomed the minister’s visit and said the BJP’s presence in the Valley is expanding with growing participation of youth and grassroots workers.

Sunil Sharma reiterated the party’s commitment to development-oriented governance and public welfare in the Union Territory, the leaders said.(NVI)
