New Delhi (NVI): An earthquake of magnitude 3.8 on the Richter scale hit Odisha’s Berhampur area this morning.
The National Centre for Seismology said that the earthquake struck 73km West South-West (WSW) of Berhampur.
The affected regions were Patrapur of Ganjam district and Mohana of Gajapati district.
People in parts of the city rushed out of their houses after experiencing the quake. No casualties or damage to property have been reported so far from the region.
Earlier in the day, another medium-intensity earthquake of magnitude 3.5 jolted Sonitpur in Assam at around 5.26am.
