New Delhi (NVI): The Ministry of Sports today announced the list of athletes who will be conferred with the National Sports Awards for this year. Sports Awards are given every year to recognize and reward excellence in sports.
Surprisingly, eight para-sports personalities will receive the National Sports Awards this year, including the Khel Ratna to Paralympics gold medallist Mariyappan Thangavelu.
The awardees will receive their awards from President Ram Nath Kovind at a specially organized function through virtual mode from Rashtrapati Bhawan on August 29, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports said in a statement.
