New Delhi (NVI): External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will leave for Moscow, Russia,to attend a meeting of Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) on September 9 and 10.
The CFM meeting in Moscow will review the preparations for the forthcoming SCO Summit and also exchange views on international and regional issues, a Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) statement said.
This is the third CFM meeting that India will be attending as a full member of SCO.
Earlier two meetings were held in Beijing, China, on April 23-24, 2018, and Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, on May 21-22, 2019.
India has been taking active part in various SCO dialogue mechanisms under the Chairmanship of the Russian Federation in this year.
These SCO meetings are taking place at a time when India and China, two of the bloc’s members, are engaged in a fierce border row in eastern Ladakh.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is also expected to attend the SCO meeting.
Earlier, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh left for Moscow on Wednesday on a three-day visit to attend a meeting of SCO defence ministers.
