Jammu (NVI): Pakistani troops today violated ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Shahpur, Kirni and Qasba sectors of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir, defence officials said.
The Pakistani army resorted to unprovoked firing and mortar shelling in these areas at around 2.30 pm today, defence officials said, adding that the Indian Army was giving a befitting response.
“At about 1430 hours, Pak initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with Small Arms & intense shelling with Mortars along LoC in Shahpur, Kirni & Qasba sectors in District Poonch (J&K). Indian Army is retaliating befittingly,” a defence statement read.
In another ceasefire violation in the later in the evening, Pakistan army targeted Sunderbani sector in Rajouri district. “At about 1700 hours Pak initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with small arms & shelling with Mortars along LoC in Sunderbani Sector, District Rajouri(J&K),” said a defence official.
