New Delhi (NVI): Delegations of senior officials from the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG) visited Srinagar three times in two months to take forward various government’s initiatives and firm up the development road map of the newly created Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
In the third such visit on October 15-16, the DARPG team led by Joint Secretary V. Shashank Shekhar, had detailed discussions with regard to the implementation of e-office across the Government of J&K, Capacity Building, Training of J&K officers and the upcoming November 30 conference on Disaster Management.

“This visit has come in the continuation of the second visit of the team led by V. Shashank Shekhar, Joint Secretary, DARPG that was concluded on September 20-21, in which the team attended the Public Grievance hearing conducted by K.K. Sharma, Advisor to Governor,” said an official statement.
“They witnessed the Public Grievance Mechanism prevalent in J&K, wherein the Advisors personally listen to the grievances of the common man and try to resolve the issues,” it added.
The DARPG delegation led by V. Srinivas, Additional Secretary DARPG had earlier visited J&K between September 4-5.
“The team also requested Jammu and Kashmir government to facilitate detailed write-ups on success stories based on 11 applications received from them under Innovation Categories for Prime Minister’s Award so that minimum government, maximum governance (MGMG) special issue could be brought out expeditiously,” said statement.
The delegation also met K Skandan and Vijay Kumar, advisors to the Governor and the Principal Secretary, IT Department, Secretary RD & Secretary Art and Culture, J&K to discuss in detail about various initiatives that are planned to be undertaken by DARPG in Jammu and Kashmir.
The team had also discussed to look at producing short films and videos on the rich culture and heritage of the valley.
The two days’ conference on disaster management is scheduled to be held in Jammu on November 30.
