Mig-29 steals the show at India-Oman air exercise

IAF and RAFO participated in a bilateral air exercise EX EASTERN BRIDGE-V at Masirah in Oman from October 17 to 26.

New Delhi (NVI): The joint air exercise between the Indian Air Force (IAF) and Royal Air Force Oman (RAFO) — EX EASTERN BRIDGE-V — concluded at the Masirah Island in Oman on October, 26.

The IAF tweeted, “#EasternBridge19 culminated & team IAF is heading Home. The objectives for exercise were to foster closer relationship between Indian-Oman forces & undertake mutual exchange of best practices. Thank you #RAFO for all the support & great hospitality. Happy Landings!!!”.

The Indian Air Force Chief, Air Chief Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria also visited Masirah island Airbase, during the exercise.

For the first time ‘MiG-29 Upgrade’ participated in an international air exercise overseas.

Besides MiG-29, the C-17 aircraft also participated in the drill  while from RAFO contingent Eurofighter Typhoon, F-16 and Hawk aircraft exercised.

The bilateral exercise began on October 17. The IAF was received by the Station Commander RAFO base Masirah, Air Commodore Hussain Al Zadjal.
