New Delhi (NVI): India today strongly condemned the two suicide attacks in Baghdad in which 32 people were killed while 116 others were injured, saying that it “unequivocally opposes terrorism in all its forms.”
In response to a media query on yesterday’s suicide attacks in Baghdad, the Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said, “The Government of India strongly condemns the suicide attacks at Tayaran Square in Baghdad on 21 January 2021 in which several people lost their lives and many were injured. India unequivocally opposes terrorism in all its forms and expresses solidarity with the Government and the people of Iraq.”
“We extend our sincere condolences to the bereaved families and wish a speedy recovery to those injured in this despicable act,” Srivastava added.
On Thursday, bombers detonated explosives in an area near al-Tayaran Square in Baghdad that left 32 dead and injured over 100.
