Delhi police issues advisory for R-Day

New Delhi (NVI): The Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory for public to avoid roads where traffic will be restricted due to the Republic Day Parade tomorrow.

The police in the advisory stated, “There would be elaborate traffic arrangements and restrictions in place for smooth conduct of the parade and tableaux along with respective routes.”

Republic Day parade will begin at 9:50 am from Vijay Chowk and proceed to the National Stadium, while tableaux will start from Vijay Chowk and move towards Red Fort ground.

Also, the wreath-laying ceremony will be held at National War Memorial at around 9 am, the Delhi police said in the advisory.

“Movement of traffic on certain roads leading to the route of the parade and tableaux will be restricted,” the advisory stated, adding that no traffic will be allowed on Vijay Chowk from 6 pm on January 25 till the parade is over.

While road users have been advised to avoid the route of the parade and tableaux from 4 am to 12:30 pm on January 26, the advisory read.

It further said that, the services of metro will remain operational during the parade on January 26. However, boarding and de-boarding at certain stations will not be allowed for short periods of time.

“In general public instruction, in case any unidentified object or suspicious person is seen, the information must be conveyed to the nearest policeman on duty,” the advisory added.
