Srinagar (NVI): Former Jammu Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today blamed the BJP for violence in Delhi on Republic Day and termed it as “a conspiracy” to defame farmers protesting against the farm laws.
“The person who did it all belongs to BJP,’’ she told media in summer capital Jammu.
“The person had been with the Prime Minister, Home Minister and he had been running the BJP campaign for Sunny Deol during Lok Sabha elections. I feel that it has been a conspiracy to defame farmers),” she said.
She said that Republic Day is celebrated as Constitution Day but “unfortunately laws are made in violation of the Constitution”.
“While framing laws, farmers were not consulted. Farmers are anxious and they are scared of losing bread and butter. These laws should be taken back in the interest of farmers,” she added.
