New Delhi (NVI): Ahead of the formal opening of the Kartarpur Corridor, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced that Sikh pilgrims visiting the shrine – Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur – will no longer require passport and advance registration.
Further, he also announced that no fee will be charged on the inauguration day on November 9 and also on November 12, the day of Guru Nanak Devji’s 550 birth anniversary.
Imran Khan in his twitter announced, “For Sikhs coming for pilgrimage to Kartarpur from India, I have waived off 2 requirements: i) they wont need a passport – just a valid ID; ii) they no longer have to register 10 days in advance. Also, no fee will be charged on day of inauguration & on Guruji’s 550th birthday”.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 9, will inaugurate the Passenger Terminal Building on the Indian side of the Kartarpur Sahib corridor at Dera Baba Nanak. He will also address a Jan Sabha.
On October 24, India and Pakistan signed a path-breaking and historic agreement to operationalise Kartarpur Sahib Corridor that will facilitate Indian pilgrims to visit Gurudwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan.
With the signing of this Agreement, a formal framework has been laid down for operationalisation of the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor. The corridor will be completed by October 31, a week before the celebrations to mark the 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Devji.
