New Delhi (NVI): At least six women and two children were among 15 labourers killed in a road accident near in Jalgaon district of Maharashtra after a truck overturned last night.
The incident took place at Kingaon village in Yawal taluka of Jalgaon district. The truck driver was arrested by the local police after the arrest.
According to police, the deceased were labourers from Abhoda, Kerhala, and Raver in the Jalgaon district.
Meanwhile, five labourers who sustained serious injuries, are being treated at a rural hospital.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also condoled the loss of lives. “Heart-wrenching truck accident in Jalgaon, Maharashtra. Condolences to the bereaved families. May the injured recover at the earliest,” Prime Minister’s Office said in a tweet.
