Krishna Dhaba owner’s son, injured in terror attack in Srinagar, succumbs

Srinagar (NVI): Days after being shot at by terrorists, the son of a famous eatery in Srinagar today succumbed to his injuries here, according to officials.

Akash Mehra, son of the owner of Krishna dhaba in Srinagar was undergoing treatment at SHMS hospital in Dalgate, where he died in the wee hours today at around 3:20 am.

According to officials, Akash Mehra had received a bullet wound in right side of lower armpit and abdomen, when the terrorists opened fire at the eatery on February 17, and was on ventilator since then. 25-year-old Akash was a resident of Janipur in Jammu.

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Vijay Kumar while addressing a press conference in Srinagar on February 19, had said that three bike-borne terrorists, who were newly recruited, were arrested for carrying out the attack.

The IGP Kashmir had also said that the bike and pistol used in the attack by the trio have been seized. All three arrested were newly recruited militants and “confessed” to have carried out the attack, Kumar had said.
