New Delhi (NVI): Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has been admitted to AIIMS Covid centre in Delhi for observation after testing positive for Covid-19.
The LS Speaker is presently stable and all his parameters are normal, according to AIIMS.
The monsoon session of the Parliament was curtailed last year after over 30 MPs, including Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Prahlad Patel, tested positive for Covid.
India today recorded 43,846 fresh cases, in the biggest single-day rise in daily Covid-19 cases in past four months. With this, the country’s overall Covid tally is over 1.15 crore cases now. The number of fatalities have risen to 1,59,755 with 197 fresh deaths in the past 24 hours.
