New Delhi (NVI): The global count of coronavirus cases has reached more than 126 million, with over 2,766,800 deaths reported. Over 71 million patients have been cured of the virus, according to Johns Hopkins University data.
In the US, the total number of coronavirus infection has reached to more than 30.15 million, while the total number of COVID-19 fatalities have surpassed 5,48,067 in the country.
Brazil follows in second place in the worst-hit nation. The country has surpassed the 12.4-million mark and stands at 12,404,414, while the death toll rises to 3,07,112.
The Health Ministry of Mexico has registered 5,303 new coronavirus cases and 651 additional fatalities on Friday, bringing the total caseload in the country to 2,219,845 with 200,862 deaths.
Furthermore, Kenya President Uhuru Kenyatta reimposed COVID-19 restrictions and put the capital, Nairobi, and surrounding counties under lockdown after the country’s positivity rate this week jumped to 22 percent.
Apart from that, the government of South Korea also decided to extend the current restrictions in the greater Seoul area for another two weeks as its daily new cases hit a one-month high.
