New Delhi: Parts of South and Northeast India are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall as Southwest monsoon is very likely to advance further over these regions today.
“Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places very likely over Assam & Meghalaya and Heavy Rainfall at isolated places over TamilNadu, Puducherry & Karaikal,” the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted in its weather bulletin today.
Heavy rainfall is also likely over Coastal Karnataka, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, the IMD said.
Strong Winds (speed 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph) very likely over Southwest & Westcentral #ArabianSea. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas, it said.
Southwest monsoon is very likely to advance further into more central Arabian Sea, some more part of Maharashtra, remaining parts of Karnataka, more parts of Andhra Pradesh, Telengana, remaining parts of Tamil Nadu, more parts of central and northeast Bay of Bengal, some parts of north east Bay of Bengal and northeast India during next 24-hours, the IMD said yesterday.
