India registers 40,134 new covid cases, 422 deaths

COVID-19 threatens people with heart diseases, as winter hints at a second wave

New Delhi: India recorded 40,134 fresh COVID-19 cases and 422 deaths in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said today.

With this increase, the total number of active coronavirus cases in the country has gone up to 4,13,718 while the cumulative death toll has reached 4,24,773.

Nearly 36,946 patients have recovered in the last 24 hrs, taking the total number of recoveries to 3,08,57,467, the Health Ministry said.

The cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the country has reached 47,22,23,639, with 17,06,598 being inoculated in last 24 hours.

Yesterday, the country recorded 41,831 COVID-19 cases and 541 deaths in 24 hours.

On Saturday, the country recorded 41,649 COVID-19 cases and 593 deaths in 24 hours.

On Friday, the country recorded 44,230 COVID-19 cases and 555 deaths in 24 hours.

On Thursday, the country recorded 43,509 COVID-19 cases in 24 hours.

On Wednesday, the country recorded 43,654 COVID-19 cases and 640 deaths in 24 hours.

On Tuesday, the country recorded 29,689 COVID-19 cases and 415 deaths in 24 hours.
