16,862 new Covid cases, 379 deaths registered in India

New Delhi: India registered 16,862 new single-day COVID cases and 379 deaths in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said today.
With this increase, the total active cases stood at 2,03,678 while the cumulative coronavirus cases have gone up to 3,40,37,592.
The total death toll in the country due to Covid has risen to 4,51,814.
The vaccination figure has reached 97,14,38,553, with 30,26,483 people being innoculated in last 24 hours.

Yesterday, the government reported 18,987 fresh COVID-19 cases and 246 deaths in the previous 24 hours.

On Wednesday, the country reported 15,823 COVID-19 cases and 226 deaths in a span of 24 hours.

The country recorded 14,313 Covid infections and 181 deaths in 24 hours on Tuesday.

The country recorded 18,132 Covid cases and 193 fatalities in 24 hours, a day earlier.

Nearly 18,166 new infections cases along with 214 deaths were recorded in 24 hours on Sunday.

The single-day figure reported last Friday was 21,257 along with 271 deaths in a span of 24 hours.
