New Delhi: India reported a dip in fresh COVID cases but the fatalities due to the pandemic saw an increase.
According to the Union Health Ministry, 15,786 new cases and 231 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.
Yesterday, the government reported 18,454 fresh cases being registered against 14,623 recorded during the previous day.
The government yesterday also reported 160 deaths during the previous 24 hours, raising the total tally of fatalities to 4,52,811.
With fresh fatalities, the total toll has gone up to 4,53,042.
The active caseload stood at 1,75,745.
On Wednesday, the government said 14,623 new COVID-19 cases and 197 deaths were reported in the previous 24 hours.
On Tuesday, the government reported 13,058 single-day cases in the previous 24 hours, which was the lowest in 231 days.
The country saw 164 deaths due to Covid in those 24 hours, as per the Union Health Ministry.
On Monday, the government reported 13,596 single-day cases, which was lower than 14,146 registered the previous day.
The government on Monday also reported 166 Covid deaths in a span of 24 hours.
