IMD predicts dry weather in most parts of India for next 4-5 days

New Delhi: The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted dry weather in several parts of North India over the next 4-5 days with minimum temperature ranging between 5-9° Celsius across the region.

According to IMD, “Dry weather very likely in most parts of India except southeast peninsular India, islands and Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan & Muzaffarabad over the next 4-5 days.”

“Minimum Temperatures are in the range of 5-9°C in most parts of Punjab and Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi; many parts of Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh; and in some parts of East Uttar Pradesh and north Madhya Pradesh,” the IMD said.

“Gradual fall in minimum temperatures by 2-3°C over many parts of East India during next 2 days and no significant change thereafter,” it said in a statement.

“No significant change in minimum temperatures over rest parts of the country during next 3-4 days,” it added.

The IMD has also predicted light to moderate rainfall at isolated places very likely over parts of southeast Peninsular India (Tamilnadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Kerala & Mahe, Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and South Interior Karnataka) and Andaman & Nicobar Islands during the next 3-4 days.

“Light to moderate rainfall at isolated places likely over Arunachal Pradesh during 15th-16th and Lakshadweep during 14th-15th December,” the IMD said.

Light to moderate rainfall/snowfall at isolated places very likely over Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan- Muzaffarabad during 14th-16th December.

Dense fog in morning hours in isolated pockets very likely over east Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura during next 24 hours, the IMD added.
