India registers 6,531 new Covid cases, Omicron tally reaches 578

New Delhi: Omicron cases in India have increased to 578 while the overall Covid figure in the country was reported to be 6,531 during the last 24 hours along with 315 deaths.

According to the Health Ministry, Delhi recorded the highest number of Omicron cases followed by Maharashtra.

The total number of Omicron cases in Delhi has risen to 142 and Maharashtra to 141.

The cumulative death toll across the country has reached 4,79,997, the ministry said.

Around 7,141 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative tally of recovered patients to 3,42,37,495.

The vaccination figure has reached 1,41,70,25,654 across the country with inoculating 29,93,283 beneficiaries in the last 24 hours, it said.

Yesterday, the country reported 6,987 new cases and 422 Omicron variant cases in 24 hours.

The country reported 6,650 new Covid cases and 387 fatalities in 24 hours.

During the previous 24 hours, the country reported 6,650 fresh Covid cases and 374 deaths.

The country reported 7,495 fresh Covid cases and 434 fatalities in 24 hours, a day earlier.

A day prior to that, the country reported 6,317 fresh Covid cases and 318 fatalities in 24 hours.
