Srinagar: Security forces today killed 2 Pakistan-supported terrorists in an encounter in Rainawari area of Srinagar in Kashmir.
Among the killed terrorists was one who was running a news website and presenting himself as a journalist.
“02 #terrorists killed. #Incriminating materials including #arms & ammunition recovered. Search going on. Further details shall follow,” Kashmir Zone police tweeted a little while back, giving an update of the encounter that began lat last night.
It said one of the slain terrorists was identified as Rayees Ahmed Bhat.
He “was earlier a journalist & was running online news portal ‘Valley News Service’ in Anantnag,” Police said.
Bhat joined terrorist ranks in August last year &was categorised ‘C’ in police list, it added
Two FIRs are already registered against him for terror crimes, police said.
The second killed terrorist has been identified as Hilal Ahmed Rah of Bijbehara, a ‘C’ categorised terrorist, the police said.
