Srinagar: Pakistan-supported terrorists struck this evening in Srinagar, attacking a security picket and killing an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Police and injuring 2 others.
The unidentified terrorists fired at the ‘naka’ party in Lal Bazar area of the city, the police said.
Three policemen were injured in the firing, after which the terrorists fled, the police said.
One of the injured, ASI Mushtaq Ahmed, succumbed to his injuries soon after, the police said.
The two other wounded personnel were being treated at a hospital, the police said.

“We pay rich tribute to the martyr for his supreme sacrifice made in the line of duty. Other two injured personnel are being treated,” said a tweet by the police.
The police said a hunt has been launched to track down the attackers.
The terror attack in Srinagar has taken place after a gap of weeks.
