Covid update: Single-day cases in India cross 20k mark

New Delhi: India’s single-day Covid cases have crossed the 20,000 mark today, with 20,044 fresh cases being registered within the span of 24 hours.

At least 56 deaths due to Covid were also registered during this period, Union Health Ministry said this morning.

With this, the cumulative death toll due to the pandemic has reached 5, 25,660.

The active caseload stood at 1,40,760 constituting 0.32% of the total Covid cases.

Nearly 18,301 patients have been recovered in the last 24 hours, taking cumulative recoveries to 4,30,63,651, it said.

The country’s daily positivity rate stands at 4.80% and the weekly positivity rate is at 4.40%.

Nearly, 4,17,895 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, taking the overall tally to 86.90 crores.
