Peshawar: Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed to have killed 81 Pakistani military and paramilitary personnel and injured 116 in 96 operations in various parts of the country during the month of June.
The monthly report of TTP activities showed that the Pakistan Army bore the maximum brunt.
The report issued by its spokesman Muhammad Khurasani said that the total number of attacks during the month was 96.
Most of the attacks took place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, which the stronghold of the TTP, and a few were carried out in Balochistan Province, Sindh Province and Punjab Province.
In Khyber Pakthunkhwa, 36 attacks were carried out in Dera Ismail Khan district, 25 in Bannu district, 12 in Malakand district, 10 in Kohat district and 9 in Peshawar district, according to the statement.
Balochistan Province saw 2 attacks, Sindh Province saw one in Karachi and Punjab Province one.
The nature of the operations included Sniper/Laser attacks (28), Guerrilla attacks (16), Counterattacks (27), Ambush (11), Grenade attacks/Bombings (9) and Targeted Attacks 5.
These operations resulted in 81 enemy casualties and injuries to 116, according to the statement.
Two people were arrested, it said.
The security institutions which suffered the losses included the Pakistan Army (117),
Frontier Corps (41), Police/Counter-Terrorism Department (29) and Secret agents/Peace Committee members (10).
These TTP operations also resulted in the destruction of 2 military posts, 9 military vehicles, 1 machinery and 11 cameras, it said.
The TTP also claimed to have seized equipment from the Pakistani military, including three G3 Guns, three Kalashnikov rifles, one Night Vision Binocular, hundreds of bullets, several mobile phones and cash.
