Srinagar, Aug 16 (NVI): Just before the announcement of Assembly elections by the Election Commission of India today, the government of Jammu and Kashmir carried out a massive reshuffle in the police department at the top and middle levels.
Among the key highlights of the reshuffle is the appointment of Additional DGP Nitish Kumar as the head of CID, a post held additionally by DGP R R Swain who is going to retire this month.
Sunil Gupta has been given the charge of IGP Crime, relieving Deepak Kumar of the additional charge of the post.
Sujit Kumar has been given the charge of IGP (Security), relieving M K Sinha of the additioanl charge.
Bhim Sen Tuti, IGP (Hqrs) with additional charge of IGP (POS) and IGP Traffic, has been posted as IGP (POS) with additional charge of IGP (Hqrs) PHQ, IGP (Telecom).
Vivek Gupta has been posted as Incharge IGP Railways (J&K), relieving S.J.M. Gillani of the charge of railways wing.
M Suleman Choudhary has been posted as Incharge IGP traffic .
Dr Ajeet Singh has been posted as DIG Traffic Kashmir against an available vacancy.
Dr Vinod Kumar has been posted as incharge DIG Armed Jammu.
Maqsood-ul-Zaman has been posted as incharge DIG north Kashmir Baramulla.
Mubassir Latifi Ameer has been posted as incharge DIR(Pers) PHQ.
Shiv Kumar has been posted as DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range.
Ms. Rashmi Wazir has been posted as DIG security, J&K, against available vacancy
Rajeshwar Singh has been posted as incharge DIG SIA.
As per a separate order, Gurinderpal Singh has been posted as SSP Baramulla, Amod Ashok Nagpure as SSP Udhampur, Amritpal Singh as SSP (Tech) CID Hqrs, Mumtaz Ahmed as SSP Poonch, Mohammad Aslam as SSP Doda vice Javid Iqbal, who has been asked to await further postings at PHQ.
Sandeep Gupta has been transfered and posted as AIG (Tech) PHQ , Anuj Kumar as CO IR-11, Ms Tunushree as SP SIA Kashmir, Ananyat Ali Choudhary as SSP Shopian, Ms Mohita Sharma as AIG (Prov) PHQ, Ms Deepika as SSP Kathua, Gaurav Sikawar as SSP Reasi, Kulbir Singh as SSP Ramban.
Joginder Singh will be SSP Jammu, Ashok Kumar Sharma will be CO1 Border Batallion Jammu, Wasim Qadri will be SSP Ganderbal, Yougal Kumar Manhas as SSP SIA Jammu, Ai-Tahir Geelani as AIG (procurement) PHQ, Ms Shaheen Wahid as SSP telecom Jammu, Sandeep Bhat as Additional SP Udhampur and Baljeet Singh As Additional SP Nowshera.
The mass scale transfers and postings were announced just ahead of the announcement of Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir today.
