Quetta: Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed to have killed 7 informers and agents of the Pakistani military in different parts of Balochistan, dealing a severe blow to the Pakistani establishment.

In one major operation, the BLA fighters carried out a large-scale attack on a hideout of a group of affiliates of the Pakistan army and intelligence agencies called the ‘death squad’ in Paroom area of Panjgur district, according to its spokesman Jeeyand Baloch.

The operation was based on the information provided by the newly-formed ZIRAB, the intelligence wing of the BLA, and was carried out on Monday night by the ‘Fateh Squad’, a specialised unit of the outfit, he said.

The attack resulted in the killing of 4 members of the notorious ‘death squad’, which comprises agents which carry out extrajudicial killings and abductions of Baloch people at the behest of the Pakistani military.

One member of the death squad managed to escape, said the spokesman but added that the weapons and other military equipment of the neutralised personnel were seized by the BLA fighters.

Simultaneously, another squad of the BLA fighters moved towards the attack site and targeted Zahir Shambezai, brother of the ‘death squad’ leader Bajar Shambezai.

Zahir was neutralized on the spot, while two of his injured associates managed to escape, Jeeyand said.

The BLA fighters subsequently destroyed the shelter along with two crash plants and other heavy machinery associated with the exploitation project at the same location, he said.

“In the Paroom area of Panjgur, certain national traitors, driven by personal interests, have become tools for the occupying army and death squads, actively working against the national movement,” the BLA spokesman said.

“They operate as informers and facilitators for the enemy state’s army, assisting in various ways, including relaying information on Baloch youth, delivering supplies to the enemy army, providing transport to intelligence officers, and installing cameras and solar systems for the enemy. These actions are carried out under the guise of a business relationship with the military,” he said.

The spokesman said that in Panjgur, certain individuals exploit the simplicity of local people, coercing them to inform on behalf of the enemy army under the pretense of ‘line’ operations.

“These individuals are appointed as ‘line in charge’ as a reward for aiding the army, receiving oil trade permits on the gold-seamed line in return. These individuals exploit the economic hardships of ordinary Baloch people, enticing them with permits in exchange for information,” he said.

“Unarmed informers also venture into the mountains under the guise of hunting, recreation, or livestock tending, attempting to discover the locations and routes of the fighters,” Jeeyand Baloch said.

He said the intelligence wing of the BLA is monitoring all such people closely and warned of their ‘harsh end’ if they do not cease their anti-national activities.

The spokesman said earlier, in an operation in Hoshab Tal area of Kech district of Balochistan, the BLA fighters arrested one Maqsood, who admitted to being an agent of the Pakistan army.

He confessed, during interrogation, that he met Colonel Miran of the Pakistan Army at Hoshab camp and began working as an agent of the Pakistani military.

Maqsood admitted that under the guise of a sympathizer, he had hidden a tracking chip in the supplies meant for the fighters and delivered it to the fighters’ camp, the spokesman said.

It led to a Pakistani drone attack on the camp in January 2023, in which 3 fighters of the ally organization were martyred, he said.

The agent disclosed the names of other accomplices in addition to admitting his crimes, Jeeyand Baloch said.

The Baloch National Court gave him a death sentence and subsequently, he was neutralized by the fighters for treason, the spokesman said.

ZIRAB continues to pursue other agents within this network, who will soon be brought to their logical conclusion, he warned.

In another intelligence-based operation, the BLA killed a key agent of the Pakistani army in the Killi Qambarani area of Quetta.

Syed Khan, an intelligence agent of the Pakistani army, was involved in recruiting informers for secret agencies, including agents for the occupying army in Quetta.

Following all intelligence and evidence, Baloch Liberation Army fighters neutralized Syed Khan in Killi Qambarani, Quetta, and confiscated his weapons, the spokesman said.

“Baloch Liberation Army claims responsibility for these attacks and makes it clear that anyone acting against the Baloch national movement and interests, regardless of nationality, race, religion, or sect, will be treated as an enemy and traitor and brought to its logical conclusion,” the spokesman warned.
