Quetta: After carrying out the deadliest attack on Pakistan Army at the Quetta Railway Station, Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has threatened more severe and widespread assaults if the Pakistani military aggression and massacre of innocent Baloch people continues.
It also asked the international community to understand the philosophy of the Baloch National Liberation Movement and support it in “this legal and defensive struggle of the Baloch people”.
On November 9, a suicide bomber of the BLA blew himself up at the Quetta Railway Station, targeting a contingent of around 200 Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) who were waiting to catch a train after completing training at The School of Infantry and Tactics here.
According to the BLA, 31 Non-Commissioner Officers (NCOs) of the Pakistan Army were killed and over 60 injured in the attack, making it the biggest hit against military considering that it was the first time that so many NCOs had been killed in one incident.
The Pakistani authorities have not given a clear count of those killed and injured in the attack.
The Quetta “operation is a clear message that our spirit of liberation will not yield to any oppressive force,” the BLA said.
Hailing fidayeen Muhammad Rafiq Bizenjo alias Washen who carried out the suicide attack at the Quetta Railway Station, the outfit said, “Every individual of the Baloch nation is determined to fight for their rights and liberation.”
“Our movement desires peace, but if it is necessary to respond to cruelty, we will not back down,” it said in a statement.
“We warn Pakistani army and authorities in clear terms that if the military aggression on the land of Balochistan is not stopped, if the army does not withdraw from occupying our motherland, and if the massacre of innocent Baloch people continues, then future attacks will be more severe and widespread, with an intensity felt as far as the main cities of Pakistan,” it said.
“To avoid further bloodshed and to bring stability to Balochistan, the Pakistani army should immediately withdraw its forces and recognize the sovereignty and independence of Balochistan,” the BLA said, adding “We (Pakistan and Balochistan) can live as two peaceful neighbours.”
It added, “The Pakistani government and army must remember that the Baloch people’s desire for liberation is invincible, and with each passing day, our goal draws closer.”
Reaching out to the international community, BLA asked it to “try to understand the history, philosophy, and political priorities of the Baloch National Liberation Movement and to support us in this legal and defensive struggle of the Baloch people.”
