Quetta, April 15 (NVI) Baloch Raaji Aajoi Sangar (BRAS), a conglomerate of various freedom-seeking Baloch armed groups, today claimed to have caused a huge setback to the occupying Pakistan military in Balochistan by killing 22 soldiers and injuring several others in two attacks.
In a statement, it said the BRAS freedom fighters also captured the main camp of the occupying army, whose many personnel were forced to flee.
During the clashes, 5 freedom fighters of ‘BRAS’ were martyred, said the statement issued by the organisation’s spokesman Baloch Khan.
The fighters of BRAS targeted the main camp of the occupying Pakistani Army in the Galangor area of Noshki district last night, Khan said.
He said the attack began at 9.30 pm (Pakistan time) and continued till 1 am, during which the freedom fighters were in control of a large part of the camp.
The BRAS fighters, using snipers, first eliminated enemy personnel stationed at the security posts and subsequently stormed the complex.
“Meanwhile, another squad of ‘BRAS’ fighters captured Levies and Customs posts and arrested the personnel, while another squad ambushed a convoy of vehicles arriving to assist the enemy army in the area and targeted it in a fierce attack,” the spokesman said.
As a result, one enemy army vehicle was completely destroyed and three more vehicles came under attack, he said.
Freedom fighters later released the Levies and Customs personnel, he said.
“A total of 17 personnel of the occupying Pakistani Army were eliminated and several injured in the attacks,” the spokesman said, adding the fighters seized the enemy army’s weapons and ammunition.
During the clearance of the main camp, two freedom fighters of Baloch Raaji Aajoi Sangar — Sangat Nazar Jan and Sangat Rauf — were martyred in clashes with the enemy army, the spokesman said.
Earlier, on April 9, he said, occupying Pakistani Army tried to advance on a side camp of Baloch Raaji Aajoi Sangar freedom fighters after a drone attack at Dadar in the Chamalang area of Barkhan.
“Freedom fighters, aware of the presence of drones in the area, dispersed into different groups as part of safety measures,” he said.
“In the second drone attack by the enemy army, Sangat Kabeer was martyred, while in the third drone attack by the enemy at a short distance, Sangat Chirag was martyred and Sangat Durra was injured.
“During this time, the enemy army attempted to advance with commandos who arrived via helicopters.
“Despite being injured, Sangat Durra eliminated at least 5 enemy personnel and injured many more. When the bullets ran out, following the philosophy of the last bullet, he attained the status of martyrdom,” the spokesman said.
“The sacrifices and attacks of Baloch Raaji Aajoi Sangar freedom fighters are a clear message of Baloch national liberation. These warriors not only demonstrated bravery against the enemy army but also proved that the Baloch nation will not back down from its struggle for liberation,” Baloch Khan said.
